Job Overview:

The Ohio Department of Medicaid is seeking an experienced professional to supervise the Behavioral Health Policy Unit. As Behavioral Health Policy Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

Supervising assigned staff.

Setting Medicaid Behavioral Health Policy Unit goals and deadlines, delegating work to assigned staff and monitoring progress.

Providing continuous direction, constructive feedback, and coaching.

Overseeing and directing the preparation, development, and implementation of complex policies (e.g. benefit coverage, reimbursement policy and payment methodologies).

Managing research initiatives that support behavioral health policy development and program implementation.

Monitoring payment and utilization of mental health services and substance use disorder treatment, their interrelationships, and impact on health care delivery systems.

Monitoring and assuring compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.

Collaborating with internal and external research and data analytics professionals.

Completion of graduate core program in business, management or public administration, public health, health administration, social or behavioral science or public finance; 24 mos. exp. in planning & administering health services program or health services project management (e.g., health care data analysis, health services contract management, health care market & financial expertise; health services program communication; health services budget development, HMO & hospital rate development, health services eligibility, health services data analysis).

-Or 24 months experience as a Medicaid Health Systems Administrator 1, 65295. Note: education & experience is to be commensurate with approved position description on file.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
