Position Summary:Porter Pipe & Supply is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Credit Management Associate to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will manage customer accounts, oversee the collections process, communicate with customers about outstanding balances, and ensure timely payments. This role demands strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The Credit Management Associate is committed to providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers while maintaining strict confidentiality with all team members and serving as an ambassador of our culture.Essential Functions:

Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on overdue invoices.

Contact customers via phone, email, or mail to collect outstanding payments.

Negotiate payment plans and settlement agreements when necessary.

Document all collection activities and maintain accurate records in the system. Assess the creditworthiness of potential clients by analyzing financial statements and credit reports.

Recommend credit limits based on analysis and company policy.

Review and update credit applications, ensuring compliance with company guidelines.

Prepare regular reports on collections performance and accounts receivable aging.

Provide insights into trends in collections and credit risks.

Collaborate with management to develop strategies for improving collections processes.

Review the credit hold screen.

Build and maintain positive relationships with clients to facilitate collections.

Professionally address customer inquiries regarding billing and payment issues. Work closely with the sales team to resolve discrepancies and maintain customer satisfaction.

Stay informed about industry best practices and recommend improvements to the collections process

Perform other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Excel

Exceptional communication, interpersonal skills and negotiation abilities.

Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage time efficiently.

Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Solid mathematical skills.

Excellent written communication skills.

Required Experience and Education:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field preferred.

Demonstrated experience in collections, credit analysis, or similar role.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift, carry, push and/or pull 15 lbs.

Requires visual, hearing, and speech acuity.
