Key Responsibilities:

Lead the stand-up and operationalization of NOC services, developing comprehensive documentation, monitoring standards, and integrating monitoring tools.

Configure and optimize network management systems (including SAS, NetAct, and Edge EMS) for proactive monitoring and enhanced network visibility.

Monitor and manage the performance of the enterprise Field Area Network (FAN), encompassing Private LTE (PLTE) and transport links connecting substations, data centers, and field assets.

Perform advanced Layer 1 and Layer 2 troubleshooting for network issues across GPON, Active Ethernet, and wireless backhaul technologies.

Develop, document, and maintain robust processes for fault, incident, event, security, and SIM card management, aligned with industry best practices.

Analyze, triage, and escalate real-time network incidents efficiently, ensuring rapid service restoration and minimizing impact on utility operations.

Collaborate closely with SCADA, AMI, and enterprise IT teams to maintain seamless and secure communication flows.

Develop and manage dashboards to track FAN reliability and performance KPIs, supporting proactive operations and strategic network planning.

Provide dedicated alarm and monitoring support for all PLTE components, ensuring effective integration with centralized NMS/EMS platforms.

Coordinate with field teams to resolve fiber optic faults, OLT/ONT failures, and support device migrations, including Edge Devices.

Manage SAS monitoring and CBSD Grant acquisition processes for Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) deployments post-installation.

Assist with device configuration, provisioning, and integration with ERP and monitoring platforms.

Drive Security Management initiatives and actively participate in Audit and Compliance activities related to utility network infrastructure.

Serve as a NOC training lead, delivering training and knowledge transfer to the GSOC team to ensure continuous learning and operational readiness.

Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours and emergency response, maintaining meticulous documentation in accordance with governance standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

2-5 years of experience in a Network Operations Center or network engineering role, with a preference for experience in critical infrastructure, utility, or large enterprise environments.

Hands-on experience with fiber-optic technologies (GPON, Active Ethernet), including OLTs, ONTs, and Layer 2 switching.

Familiarity with enterprise-grade Network Management System (NMS) platforms (e.g., SolarWinds, Cacti, or vendor-specific tools).

Strong understanding of Layer 2 networking concepts, including VLANs, Spanning Tree, Ethernet, and basic IP routing.

Ability to configure and troubleshoot network devices via Command Line Interface (CLI) from vendors such as Cisco, Nokia, Huawei, or Calix.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional operational teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Business.

Five (5) years of operational experience managing large Wireless Communications Networks, particularly within a regulated or enterprise utility setting.

Five (5) years of experience in an ERP/SAP operational support environment.

Five (5) years of experience in a Contact Center or NOC environment supporting real-time service restoration and emergent network outage processes.

Experience with enterprise reporting and analytics platforms such as SAP Business Objects, Data Warehouse, and Power BI.

Familiarity with utility-relevant network protocols, including 5G/4G, 3GPP, UDP, TCP, and RF over IP (RFoIP).

Industry certifications such as CCNA, JNCIA, or equivalent.

Exposure to scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, Ansible).

Understanding of Quality of Service (QoS), multicast, and service provisioning for IP-based utility services.
