Begin to plan and develop IT solutions to technical task or project objectives of limited scope. Provide tactical design,
engineering, technical specifications, project coordination, and configuration management for modules of complex IT
solutions. Assist more senior technical personnel in performing related activities in more complex tasks. Systems may consist
of servers, desktops, storage devices, data center components, utility software, or equivalent infrastructure components.
• Comply with team processes and practices for execution of assigned tasks. • Maintain technical expertise in systems
engineering. • Complete assigned administrative tasks in a timely and quality fashion. • Proactively communicate and
coordinate with others to provide support for assigned areas. • Maintain system performance by performing system
monitoring and analysis. • Assume technical responsibility for one or more infrastructure systems. • Develop, design and
implement plans associated with systems engineering, operations and management. • Accept the technical responsibility for
design, configuration, testing, or the preparation of specifications for configuration items. • Lead system hardware/software
troubleshooting with guidance from more senior technical personnel. • Apply technical knowledge toward cost effectiveness
and incorporate new ideas resulting from progress in the field. • Maintain system security through access monitoring,
control and evaluation. • Maintaining documentation and configuration information. • Shift schedule is determined by job assignment and may include off hours schedule. • Assignment may include 24x7 support as part of an on call rotational assignment.Experience in Unix server systems engineering, systems hardening and vulnerability management.
