Position Title: Loan Processor
Department: Lending
Reports to: VP of Lending
FLSA Classification: non-exempt
Compensation: $24.50 - $32.15 /hour
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the VP of Lending, the Loan Processor is responsible for a variety of duties related to all consumer loan servicing functions. They will perform routine administrative tasks in support of all consumer loans. Duties include but are not limited to loan document production, data entry, filing, document tracking, file maintenance, reviewing reports, and performing loan research. The Loan Processor will provide prompt, efficient, and accurate support to co-workers and members regarding consumer loans.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Prepare Loan Documents for Auto and Mortgage loans.
Ensures excellent member service, every member, every transaction, every time.
Research and analyze loan file data to resolve issues and member inquiries.
Responsible for reviewing daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
Complete requests for fee and payment reversals on loans as well as requests for loan extension and due date changes.
Assists in tracking required collateral insurance as well as processing insurance adjustments, refunds, or reimbursements for loans.
Responsible for handing certain aspects of insurance product claims, cancellations, and member issues.
Assist with documentation and title information for the collections department for the repossession process as needed.
Monitor and process loan payoffs as well as provide communication to dealerships, insurance companies, and any appropriate parties in an accurate and timely manner.
Manage all incoming fax and email correspondence that pertains to loan servicing.
Responds to member problems and requests, when necessary, and assists with completion of forms and documents.
Maintains a variety of loan records, documents, and files which includes maintaining the vault and our storage records.
Assists in training other team members.
Produces quality work efficiently and free from errors.
Follows guidelines and policies such as Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act and Office of Foreign Assets Control, CIP, Reg CC, B, D, E and Z intended to limit risk and exposure for the organization and its members. Types of risk include fraudulent transactions, account fraud or mishandling, compliance with policies, security guidelines, and the organization’s reputation.
Provides member service in accordance with CCCU standards.
Regularly attends and participates in in-house training and various job-related meetings to keep current in position knowledge.
Demonstrates a commitment to learning and acceptance of change.
Responsible for the centralized process of collateral title tracking and perfecting CSCU’s lien on secured consumer and business loan titles.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Demonstrated experience handling mortgage and HELOC documentation, with familiarity in forms, regulatory requirements, and standard processes (3-5 years).
Demonstrate excellent member service abilities. (1 to 3 years)
Ability to recognize and prevent fraudulent loan requests for the member and the credit union. (1 to 3 years)
Good organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
Excellent mathematical and statistical aptitude.
Computer skills – CSCU core system and associated software’s, Windows and web-based systems, Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and the utilization of CSCU online/mobile banking and related services. (1 to 3 years).
Knowledge of organizational structure, policies, procedures (including Office Procedures Manual and Employee Handbook), and practices. Credit Union products, services, programs, and promotions. (1 to 3 years)
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge and understanding of consumer lending procedures, practices and policies, and credit fundamentals would normally be acquired through experience in branch operations.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
May require standing and walking 25% of the time, lifting up to a maximum of 50 pounds, and other physical actions that include stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, pulling, and pushing.
May be required to work in an environment with high noise levels and unpredictable temperature and ventilation.
