Job Description
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: Food preparation and cafeteria experience preferred.
Licenses: Valid SC driver's license
General Requirements: Some dietary knowledge (food and nutrition) required.
Physical Requirements: Exposure to heat. Ability to reach stored food for preparation.
POSITION SUMMARY & PURPOSE:
Prepares food and performs a variety of cafeteria duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or is a logical assignment to the position.)
· Performs food preparation.
· Performs cooking.
· Assures all equipment and surroundings are sanitary.
· Uses equipment and appliances and reports any problems to supervisor.
· Helps individuals that are assigned to kitchen duty to perform their assigned tasks.
· Acts in the absence of the Cafeteria Supervisor.
· Attends initial Burton Center staff orientation, in-services and workshops as appropriate to enhance job performance.
· Follows diets and menus as prescribed by dietitian, insuring proper serving portion size.
