How You’ll Make an Impact

The CMM Programmer develops programs to use on CMM for dimensional inspection of manufactured product. Uses CMM and other inspection tools to inspect product for dimensional conformance according to production schedule. Reads and interprets Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) data. Complies with internal quality system, business policies, and regulatory requirements; supports business goals and objectives.

What you’ll be doing as a CMM Programmer:

Working a Full-time, onsite position at our Simi Valley, CA location.

Verify conformance to specification by measuring and testing during in-house manufacturing.

Perform incoming goods control, product inspections, witness points to control quality for items from external suppliers.

Develops new solutions under guidance and/or in a team setting or based upon precedents in the organization.

Specifies needs, identifies improvement opportunities and makes recommendations to management.

As a key member of the Quality team, coordinates with other Quality and Manufacturing staff to achieve quality and schedule objectives.

Effectively works and makes meaningful contributions to cross functional teams.

Superior knowledge and ability to read and interpret blueprints, travelers/routers, and work instructions including GD&T data on machine prints.

Generating and troubleshoot CMM programs and proof-out of CMM programs.

Perform CMM inspections for final layout on components and analyze features to GD&T requirements.

Perform inspections as required using multiple measurement and monitoring equipment.

Works with CAD models.

Generate inspection reports and FAI reports.

Requires minimal supervision to support manufacturing needs.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications (Education, skills, and experience):

MCOSMOS & CAT1000 knowledge and experience. If versed in other CMM programs, a willingness to learn those above is a must.

Certification or other documented training and work experience in CMM Programming, GD&T, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in a quality role.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Effective problem identification and solution skills.

Proven analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.

Demonstrated success in CMM Programming.

Excellent attendance and punctuality history

Work Environment:

A large percentage of work time is spent in a machine shop where temperatures vary from hot to cold. The environment may also include exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vapor from coolant, etc. Industry standard safety equipment is provided by the Company, and specific notice is posted in areas where safety equipment is required.

Compensation and Benefits:

The CMM Programmer Compensation range for onsite California applicants is $30-38 commensurate with experience. Some shifts may include shift differential pay rates. Other site ranges may differ.
