The Defense Health Agency (DHA) is a joint, integrated Combat Support Agency that enables the Army, Navy, and Air Force medical services to provide a medically ready force and ready medical force to Combatant Commands in both peacetime and wartime. The DHA supports the delivery of integrated, affordable, and high-quality health services to Military Health System (MHS) beneficiaries and is responsible for driving greater integration of clinical and business processes across the MHS.

The DHA Research and Engineering Directorate (R&E) delivers value to our beneficiary communities by shepherding innovative material and knowledge solutions from concept through final product development and into the hands of providers and Warfighters. We are an enabler for innovative improvements in patient outcomes and the delivery of care.

As a Lead Web Developer, you will:

The ideal candidate will manage the assignments for and create functional, user-friendly websites and web applications. In this role, the responsibilities will be to write code, develop and test new applications, or monitor site performance and traffic. Front-end developers will focus on the user-facing side of their work, while back-end developers make websites functional and secure.

Front-end Development:

· Design the user interface (UI): Create the visual elements of a website, such as layout, navigation menus, and interactive elements.

· Write HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code: Use these languages to structure, style, and add interactivity to the website.

· Ensure responsiveness: Ensure that the website looks good and functions properly on different screen sizes and devices.

· Create prototypes and mockups: Create models to visualize the design and functionality before actual development.

Back-end Development:

· Develop the server-side logic: Use languages like PHP, Python, or Ruby on Rails to handle data processing, database management, and other server-side tasks.

· Manage databases: Ensure that data is stored, retrieved, and manipulated efficiently.

· Implement security measures: Protect the website and user data from unauthorized access.

· Optimize website performance: Improve loading speed and responsiveness.

Other Responsibilities:

· Collaborate with team members: Work with designers, product managers, and other developers to bring the website to life.

· Maintain and update the website: Address bugs, implement new features, and keep the website running smoothly.

· Stay up to date with new web technologies: Continuously learn new tools and techniques to improve technical related competencies.

· Test the website: Ensure that the website functions correctly across different browsers and devices.

· Optimize websites for SEO (Search Engine Optimization): Make sure the website is found easily within the first page by search engine.

Skills & Other Requirements

Minimum Requirement: Strong experience and competencies to work with and manage direct reports to maintain the following:

Operating Systems: Microsoft Windows 7,10 and 11, Apple OSX, Apple iOS, Google Android

Databases: Oracle, Microsoft SQL

Hardware: Dell, Microsoft, HP

Systems: SAP, SPSS, MCSE (SharePoint), Microsoft Specialist (Win10, SQL)

Security+(8570 Level II)

Desired Certifications and Experience:

Unix Environment Certification

GSLC, CISM, CISA, C/CISO or CISSPITIL V3

Systems: SAP, SPSS, MCSE (SharePoint), Microsoft Specialist (Win10, SQL)

Education: Bachelor’s Degree (or 10 years’ experience)

Years of Experience: 8-10+ years of experience or more
