Position Overview:
The Production Maintenance II Technician plays a critical role in sustaining and improving the reliability of complex mechanical, electrical, and automated production equipment within a rubber hose manufacturing facility. Building upon foundational maintenance skills, this role performs advanced troubleshooting, diagnoses, and repairs on highly technical equipment and systems. The Production Maintenance II technician leads more complex failure analyses, mentors less experienced technicians, supports process improvement initiatives, and ensures production continuity through expert-level maintenance practices.
Role and Responsibilities
Perform advanced preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance tasks on highly technical production equipment, ensuring peak operational performance.
Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical, electrical, PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), hydraulic, and pneumatic systems independently with minimal supervision.
Conduct in-depth root cause analyses for recurring or critical equipment failures, recommending and implementing sustainable corrective actions.
Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical systems including motor control centers (MCCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), high-voltage circuits, and automated production lines.
Lead or assist in major equipment rebuilds, installations, retrofits, and commissioning activities.
Modify and improve equipment performance based on production feedback and engineering recommendations.
Assist in developing and refining preventative maintenance programs and maintenance procedures.
Install, maintain, and calibrate sensors, temperature controls, heating elements, and other process-critical electrical components.
Partner closely with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to drive operational improvements and reduce downtime.
Proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) initiatives.
Ensure compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code), OSHA electrical safety standards, and company electrical protocols.
Education & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or a related field preferred.
3–5 years of direct maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably involving high-speed production lines.
Advanced knowledge of CMMS systems and preventive/predictive maintenance methodologies.
Experience reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and PLC ladder logic diagrams.
Solid understanding of OSHA standards, including Lockout/Tagout, confined space, and arc flash safety practices.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying environmental conditions.
Compensation:
