Plant Operations Manager – Thermal/Kettle Processing

Tallahassee, FL

ISC’s team of Food and Beverage Recruiters is partnering with an international (North America) Fresh Cut Produce company to identify a Plant Operations Manager.

The Plant Operations Manager will lead the startup of a new kettle cooking production facility. They will influence the design, construction, and commercialization of the new facility. Implementing strategic enhancements and championing lean manufacturing principles, along with food and employee safety, will be vital.

Plant Operations Manager Qualifications:

Bachelor’s in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Business preferred but not required

5+ years of food industry experience, kettle/thermal processing required

Experience launching new product lines or startups

Proven leadership with team development skills

Strong in lean manufacturing and process improvement

Excellent problem-solving and innovation abilities

Effective communicator and cross-functional collaborator

Solid knowledge of food safety and regulatory compliance

Skilled in budget management and cost planning

Plant Operations Manager Responsibilities:

Lead the startup of kettle cook facility with clear goals for production, quality, and sanitation

Develop and execute the plant startup plan to ensure timely commissioning

Drive continuous improvements in efficiency, quality, and labor utilization

Provide strong leadership to optimize use of personnel and equipment

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support improvement initiatives

Implement cost-saving and quality-enhancing manufacturing processes

Coach and develop team members, leveraging strengths for plant success

Establish cost structures and manage plant budgets

Maintain accurate, compliant operational documentation

Support GM in ensuring compliance with all safety, health, and food regulations
