Position Summary
Responsible for operating production line machinery and equipment, supporting changeovers, and maintaining line efficiency in a safe, clean, and compliant environment. Ensures proper packaging, machine setup, and basic troubleshooting while adhering to safety, sanitation, and quality standards. Assists with maintenance and keeps accurate records of production activity and downtime.
Key Skills Required
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to speak and comprehend English.
Understanding of manufacturing procedures and safety standards.
Ability to perform physical work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
Ability to work 12-hour shifts, day, or night.
Requires close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), clear vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), and color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Operate various bottling and packaging machinery including labelers, cappers, case packers, and palletizers.
Perform line changeovers for different bottles or packaging brands.
Set up machines and adjust settings such as speed and calibration for efficient production cycles.
Monitor machine performance, clear jams, and perform basic troubleshooting to ensure continuous operation.
Conduct routine cleaning and preventive maintenance on equipment to maintain optimal performance.
Load machines with packaging supplies and remove defective products or materials as needed.
Record downtime and operational data accurately, noting reasons for any interruptions.
Follow all safety, sanitation, and quality standards, including the use of proper PPE.
Support food safety and manufacturing compliance, including GMP, Gluten-Free, and Organic standards.
Assist maintenance staff with repairs and contribute to a clean and organized work area.
Education/Experience
High School diploma or GED required
At least 6 months of experience in a manufacturing setting preferred
