MS SQL Server Azure DBA

Key Responsibilities:

Administer SQL Server databases (on-prem and Azure).

Perform routine maintenance including backups, restores, patching.

Configure and optimize SQL Server instances and environments.

Participate in all SDLC phases with a focus on database support.

Engage in 24x7 on-call rotation (approximately one week per month).

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Systems Administrators, Cyber Security, and Capacity Planning.

Develop and implement database standards and strategies.

Conduct performance tuning, optimization, and automation scripting (PowerShell, Linux shell).

Required Qualifications:

Proven SQL DBA experience with strong expertise in both on-premises and Azure cloud environments.

Administration experience with Azure and AWS.

Hands-on experience with database security and replication tools such as Goldengate and Guardium.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Transact SQL, performance tuning, and automation scripting (PowerShell, Bash).

Experience supporting SQL Server databases using Microsoft and cloud-native tools.

Ability to handle a hybrid role: 50% system/platform DBA and 50% application DBA tasks.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in large enterprise financial services.

Oracle DBA experience is a plus.

Azure or AWS certifications.

Familiarity with agile methodologies and DevSecOps practices.
