SUMMARY:
Mid-career Civil / Structural Engineer 3/4 to support the design team as a project lead design engineer. The candidate will be responsible for developing plans and specifications following applicable standards. The candidate shall have an excellent understanding of the design process and the ability to mentor other engineers. Assignments typically include on-site and office duties for various projects (e.g., highway/ transportation, structural, drainage, site development, and other public works improvements). Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, as well as the ability to multitask and work independently and in a team. Duties will also include communicating with and coordinating other engineering disciplines, other company divisions, and consultants, as needed, to complete projects.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong multitasking skills and keen attention to detail. They must understand and apply relevant codes, standards, policies, and procedures; troubleshoot effectively; and develop solutions to complex problems. The candidate will perform all activities safely and deliberately by maintaining required safety, security, and operational training. A strong commitment to safety, security, and quality is essential, including pausing or stopping work to protect personnel and the job site.

Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance.
Perform field investigations and assessments. Perform standard computations or analysis. Prepare drawings and visual aids.
Perform occasional drafting and/or figure development using technical software as required.
Apply prescribed techniques and procedures by established criteria to perform assigned tasks.
Perform the design of various civil/ structural engineering projects, and check the design work of staff and design engineers assigned to projects under their control.
Mentors and trains junior engineering staff.
Preparation or modification of various reports, specifications, plans, forms, policies, and procedures. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
LEVEL 3: Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related fields from an ABET-accredited college or university. At least five (5) years of relevant experience, preferably in construction plan production, design calculations, project plan development, and technical writing. Have a focus on leadership and delivering high-quality solutions and products. Experience with Autodesk design platforms, preferably Civil3D, is a plus.
LEVEL 4: Meets requirements of Level 3. With a minimum of nine (9) years relevant experience, preferably in construction plan production, design calculations, project plan development, and technical writing. Currently licensed as a PE (or will be eligible for licensure within 1 year) is preferred.
