Job Title: Controls Engineer – Digital Transformation

Location: 100% Onsite – Lincoln, NE

Duration: 12-Month Contract

Overview:

Client is seeking a Controls Engineer to support a digital transformation initiative at its Lincoln, NE manufacturing facility. This role focuses on integrating digital systems, enabling traceability, and implementing Smart Factory/Industry 4.0 solutions to prepare for Lighthouse designation.

Key Responsibilities:

Implement and support digital traceability systems (Automech).

Integrate connected equipment and ensure system communication (gateways, servers).

Collaborate with teams to validate data flow and architecture.

Support QR code testing, troubleshooting, and digital app development.

Adapt and optimize workstation processes using Lean tools.

Contribute to Smart Factory and Industry 4.0 rollout.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or automation environment.

Strong skills in SQL, Java, HTML, and app development.

Experience with PLC/HMI programming, OPC UA, Modbus, Ethernet/IP.

Knowledge of cloud systems, networking devices, and communication protocols.

Familiarity with Lean/6 Sigma and project management principles.
