Senior Java Developer

Responsibilities:

● Architect, design, and implement software solutions

● Code, test, and maintain digital products using Java, C/C++, HTML, and bash

● Provide technical sales support and help identify detailed specifications and requirements

● Estimate development timelines for building, testing, and launching products

● Develop and maintain our suite of products, including client/server applications, web applications, and embedded systems

● Create application design documentation to facilitate knowledge transfer for testing and support

● Communicate directly with customers to troubleshoot issues when necessary

● Develop standardized deployment packages and accompanying documentation

● Establish and maintain proper build and deployment processes

● Evaluate and recommend technology solutions; contribute to R&D initiatives

● Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative development environment

● Work effectively in a multi-functional role where team members collaborate across various aspects of product development

Requirements:

● 8+ years professional software development experience using Java

● 2+ years development experience using C/C++

● A 4 degree in computer science or a similar technical degree, or equivalent work experience

● A firm understanding of principles of scalable, maintainable software, such as DRY and SRP

● Understanding of good software security practices is a strong plus

● Experience architecting and designing consumer-facing systems a strong plus

● Strong understanding of Linux; strong plus for hands-on experience using RHEL

● Strong understanding of SQL, relational databases, and data structures; strong plus for hands-on experience using PostgreSQL

● Experience with developing and deploying to embedded systems a strong plus

● ISO 9001 experience a strong plus

● Strong written and verbal communication skills

● Strong collaborative skills for working across all departments in a close-knit organization

● Must be eligible to work in the United States and successfully pass a background check required
