Akkodis is looking for a (full-time) Advanced Lead Engineer – Embedded Software Development in Grand Rapids, MI (Hybrid). Please review the details below:
Seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to lead the design, development, integration, and testing of firmware for aerospace systems. The role involves developing real-time embedded software for systems that control critical electromechanical components such as motors, valves, engines, and fans.
Salary Range: $90,000-$120,000/annum; The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Job Type: Full-Time/Direct Hire
3 days onsite/week
Key Responsibilities:
Architect and develop embedded software modules and systems.
Lead full software development lifecycle (Agile or V-model).
Integrate software with microcontrollers, processors, and FPGAs.
Support hardware-software integration and communication protocols (CAN, ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553).
Guide junior team members and contribute to technical leadership.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet performance, cost, and schedule goals.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (or high school diploma/GED with 6+ years of relevant experience).
5+ years of embedded software development experience.
3+ years of experience with C or ADA programming.
Proficiency with embedded development tools (debuggers, emulators, compilers).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with DO-178B/C certified development.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with real-time operating systems and Xilinx Standalone OS.
Network driver development experience.
Experience with scripting languages (Python, Shell, Perl).
Project management and global collaboration experience.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification (preferred).
