Senior Corporate Attorney - M&A / General Commercial Transactions

A premier law firm is seeking a talented and experienced Corporate Attorney to join its Grand Rapids office. This is an opportunity to take a leadership role in a collaborative team that focuses on mergers and acquisitions and a broad range of commercial transactions. The ideal candidate will have a strong transactional background and a demonstrated ability to manage sophisticated corporate matters from inception to closing.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and support M&A transactions, including structuring, due diligence, negotiation, and documentation.

Advise clients on general corporate matters including entity formation, governance, and compliance.

Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts (e.g., purchase agreements, joint ventures, licensing, and service agreements).

Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic counsel on business and legal risks.

Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and legal staff

Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Active membership in good standing with the Michigan Bar, or willingness to become admitted.

Minimum 5 years of experience in a law firm, with a strong emphasis on M&A and general commercial transactions.

Demonstrated experience managing complex deals and client relationships independently.

Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
