Mechanical Engineer

Must Haves:

Mechanical Engineering Degree

Mechanical Design Engineering experience relating to construction, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, etc.

Experience with a CAD software: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo (2D or 3D experience), Revit, Navisworks Experience or knowledge of hydraulic calculations

Day to Day:

A client of Insight Global is seeking to add a Mechanical Engineer to its Engineering and Design team in the Des Moines, Iowa area! The Engineer will be part of a collaborative team responsible to prepare submittal and field installation drawings, hydraulic calculations, and submittal data for fire protection systems based on the requirements set by NFPA code standards, the International Building Code (IBC), and the Local Authority or fire marshal. These individuals will be expected to become proficient at designing and engineering fire suppression systems, and detailing shop drawings including field installation drawings & hydraulic calculations. They will also oversee jobsite support & field installation support. They will manage project scheduling and are expected to keep projects on schedule and to budget. They will participate in a 2-3 month training course that involves several weeks in the field with installers, as well as a 2 week design course to learn AutoSPRINK and work on a sample project in the office.
