Title: Electrical Engineer
Location: Saratoga Springs, NY
Compensation: $75/hr - $90/hr

Join our innovative engineering team as a Electrical Engineer, where you will contribute to the development of rugged, high-reliability power conversion solutions for military and industrial applications. You’ll play a key role in the design, analysis, and support of advanced AC-DC, DC-DC, and DC-AC systems, with output power levels exceeding 1KW. Our engineers take projects from concept to production, working in close collaboration with cross-functional teams and end customers.
Electrical Engineer Key Responsibilities including, but not limited to:
Design and develop high-performance switch-mode power supplies (SMPS) for military and industrial use
Utilize a range of converter topologies and control methods to optimize efficiency, power density, and reliability
Conduct detailed circuit simulation, schematic capture, and design reviews using tools such as Altium and PSpice
Ensure designs meet applicable EMI/EMC, thermal, and environmental requirements (MIL-STD-704, 461, 810)
Package designs for rugged environments including attention to shock, vibration, and thermal management
Prepare documentation packages including schematics, bills of materials, test plans, and technical reports
Troubleshoot issues during prototyping, validation, and production phases
Interface with customers to interpret specifications and define custom solutions
Lead or contribute to internal project teams and support qualification testing and certification efforts
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
Minimum 5 years’ experience in the design and development of power electronics for high-reliability or MIL-spec applications
Demonstrated experience with power levels exceeding 1KW and a strong understanding of SMPS topologies (e.g., full-bridge, push-pull, buck, boost)
Knowledge of EMI/EMC compliance standards, thermal design principles, and ruggedized packaging
Proficient in power electronics simulation and design tools (PSpice, Altium, etc.)
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
8+ years’ experience in the design and development of power electronics
MSEE or advanced technical degree
Familiarity with MIL-STD design practices (MIL-STD-704, 461, 810)
Experience with environmental and qualification testing
Experience with magnetic design or transformer-based power systems
Hands-on experience with thermal and mechanical integration of power systems
Familiarity with DoD or defense contractor programs and lifecycle documentation
