We are currently seeking an Associate Engineer, Interiors, Instrument Panel. This position requires a professional with the ability to work with some of the most passionate engineers of a global team. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Manage system, subsystem, and component data information in the CATIA 3DX environment, owning a portion of the Interior Cockpit’s Bill of Materials.

Interface with suppliers, vendors, and other support teams to ensure up-to-date and quality data is distributed internally and externally. This includes supporting the improvement and implementation of procedures for exchanging data with external parties.

Work with affected teams to understand the critical actions necessary for successful introduction of new features, capabilities, and products. With support of design engineers, track Engineering Change Requests and update their associated data through release, ensuring the 3D BOM is accurate to engineering expectations and data quality standards.

Develop best practices for design and engineering, particularly as they should be applied in the CATIA 3DX environment. Collaborate with other design engineers and the engineering tools team for this advancement.

Assist design and testing engineers through managing fabrication of prototypes, testing and shipping logistics, and purchase order progress.

Be a champion of good, fundamental design in the interior system and across the vehicle.

Understand product and part design and the impact of design changes and relevant geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

Track build issues and improve upon designs to ensure technical expertise in the market.

Learn and utilize CAD methodologies to create study files, work on slab models, and apply knowledge-based engineering in Catia V6.

Qualifications:

2+ years of demonstrated experience as a detail-oriented engineer or CAD data analyst.

Passion for creating, following, and enabling a standard organization, structure, and process in everything one performs.

Project experience creating or improving technical specifications or procedures.

Experience creating simple CAD models in 3D CAD software.

Advantageous:

Experience in CATIA 3DExperience, or another CAD and PLM system

Ability to work with a cross-functional team of different cultures and nationalities.

Work ethic that results in overall best solutions even when required in continuous changing and high-pressure situations.

Knowledge and understanding of automotive Interior Components and Systems industry benchmark, trends and supplier competencies.

Experience in concept to production launch of in automotive interiors.

A second language of German or Spanish.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering, or other equivalent Engineering Degree.

Fluent English including technical engineering terminology.
