Senior Project Engineer

While reporting to the Senior Director, Engineering, RPC North America, you will provide engineering, project, and processing support to our A&S facility in Orlando, FL. The successful candidate must work closely with the Plant Manager, Plant Engineer, engineering peers, technicians, and plant personnel to drive productivity in key metrics, maintenance excellence, and equipment/engineering solutions. This person will lead major projects, act as a safety champion, support continuous improvement efforts, and assist with day-to-day engineering and maintenance needs. The position is based in Orlando, FL and requires 25%–50% travel.

What You’ll Be Doing

Lead large and small scale initiatives with minimal supervision

Actively support maintenance excellence programs

Maintain a broad working knowledge of our processes, products, and machinery

Serve as project leader on major capital projects, managing budget, schedule, status reporting, customer interface, and performance to design objectives

Evaluate new technologies and recommend alternative equipment and process systems, including vendor visits and selection

Help plant management identify skill gaps among maintenance staff and participate in candidate testing and evaluation

Work the hours necessary to complete objectives, which may include weekends, extended hours, and travel

Monitor project spending to ensure adherence to budget limits

We’d Love to Hear from You If

You hold a BS in Engineering (mechanical or plastics concentration)

You have at least five years of plastics-industry manufacturing experience, preferably in injection molding and profile extrusion

You possess hands-on experience with injection mold processing and troubleshooting

You have strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, CAD, project-management software, etc.)

You’re experienced with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, automation, and PLCs

You have prior project-management experience
