A respected MEP contractor in Texas, our client is seeking a VDC Modeler to join their team in Dallas, TX. Serving industries including but not limited to Mission-Critical, Education, Hospitality, Healthcare.
The Position:
The appointed will assume responsibility for:
Creating detailed system drawings and advanced building models (BIMs) for preconstruction and construction using computer-aided drafting tools.
Oversee the successful deployment of VDC initiatives and technology platforms/solutions on projects.
Collaborate with project teams to develop a BIM/VDC execution strategy and offer project-specific VDC support and expertise.
Use judgment and decision-making to develop new drawings and models.
Schedule design coordination meetings with GCs, Engineers, Subcontractors. Conduct QA/QC checks on 3D models.
Manage the file transfer protocol (FTP) for each project.
Upload drawing and Navis models to FTP sites.
The Candidate:
The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate:
3-5 years of relevant trade experience.
Data Center experience is a plus.
Working knowledge of 3-D drafting software.
Expertise in Autodesk software packages (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks) and other related platforms.
High school diploma/GED.
3-5 years of experience performing computer-aided drafting.
Must be proactive and able to work effectively both independently and within a team
Strong written and verbal skills.
