Design Engineer - Structures and Materials - Propulsion
Are you a design engineer with strong experience of leading the design development and validation of critical mechanical systems and structures from early prototype through flight qualification, vehicle integration, and aircraft flight.

Owning complex hardware designs including CAD, detailed drawings, and application of GD&T
Completing design trade studies informed by material selection, thermal loads, and mechanical requirements.
Using hand calculations and computational tools (FEA) to optimize structural effectiveness and analyze reliability under real-world conditions.
Designing and analyzing material joining methods, including welding, brazing, and fastened joints.
Designing manufacturing tooling and fixturing to support hardware fabrication and prototype assembly.
Assembling prototypes first hand, establish work instructions, and support testing and debugging.
You will need to have
5- 10 years hands-on experience with structural and mechanical systems, ideally in propulsion, aerospace hardware or a similar industry.
Strong skills in solid, surface, and sheet metal CAD modelling (Siemens NX), drawing generation, and GD&T.
Strong knowledge of of materials, including alloy selection, tempers, heat treatments, and joining methods
Experience using FEA tools with efficient mesh controls and understanding of structural load cases.
Knowledge of mechanical components and mechanisms: motors, actuators, gears.
Capability designing tooling and supporting prototype builds from design to test.
