Design Engineer

Must-Haves

3-5 years of experience with 3D CAD software (Siemens NX preferred but not required).

Proficiency in creating and understanding drawings, ideally with knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Experience in the automotive industry or related fields (e.g., mechanical, farm equipment).

Must have good communication and able to work on a tight knit and fluid team

Plusses

Experience with Siemens NX CAD software

Department of Defense (DoD) experience

Programming experience

Interest in RC cars, drones, or similar hobbies

Experience with electro-mechanical systems

Structural analysis experience, preferably with a background in structural engineering.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with team to receive CAD designs and modify them for manufacturability.

Take design responsibility for tooling and production.

Engage in special projects, including electrification and development

Design and manufacture custom solutions, such as mobile telecommunications centers on autonomous platforms.

Handle engineering design, reporting, development, and follow-through to manufacturing.

Work on concept and prototyping projects from start to finish

Summary

Insight Global is looking for a mid-level design and development engineer who will be collaborating with the team to modify CAD designs for manufacturability and taking design responsibility for tooling and production. This role involves engaging in special projects like electrification and development for the special operations community, as well as designing and manufacturing custom solutions. The position also requires handling engineering design, reporting, development, and overseeing projects from concept to prototyping and through to manufacturing.
