Our client is seeking an experienced Network Security Engineer with deep expertise in the Fortinet security ecosystem and a minimum of 5 years in a similar role. This position requires strong hands-on skills in designing, deploying, and managing network security solutions using Fortinet technologies such as FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiMonitor, and FortiClient EMS.

Design and implement secure network environments utilizing the complete suite of Fortinet products

Administer and optimize FortiGate firewalls, including high-availability setups, VPN configurations (IPSec/SSL), and UTM functionalities

Oversee centralized security management through FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer

Identify, investigate, and respond to security alerts, threats, and incidents

Conduct periodic security risk assessments and support compliance efforts

Document configurations, procedures, and security standards

Act as a Tier 3 escalation point for complex technical issues and collaborate with other IT teams

Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend support as needed

What you need to be successful in this role:

At least 5 years of hands-on experience in a network security engineering role

Advanced proficiency with Fortinet tools, including FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, and FortiClient EMS

Fortinet NSE 4 certification required; higher-level certifications (NSE 5–7) strongly preferred

Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems

Experience with security segmentation, remote access solutions, and threat mitigation

Solid grasp of network routing and switching technologies (BGP, OSPF, etc.)

Proven problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking

These would be a PLUS

Integration experience with identity platforms like Azure AD or Okta

Scripting or automation knowledge (e.g., Python, Ansible)

Familiarity with public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and associated security frameworks

Background in regulated industries such as finance or healthcare is a plus
