Staff AccountantJob Summary:
The Staff Accountant assumes responsibility for preparing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, preparing and some analysis of financial statements.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Assumes Responsibility for Journal Entry Preparation
Compile and analyze information for journal entries.
Create supporting documentation.
Enter information into computer system.
Verify accuracy of debits and credits.
Prepare various financial reports including financial statements.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Must be customer oriented.
Must be able to work in fast paced environment.
Must work well in team atmosphere.
Must have basic analytical skills.
Ability to be point of contact for all auditing and/or accounting needs.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field, required.
At least two years of related experience required.
Knowledge of trucking/transportation industry preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
