Job Description
Immediately seeking an experienced CMM Programmer/Quality Technician for a large manufacturing company on the northwest side of San Antonio. The CMM Programming/Quality Tech position is a fill-in position while the internal employee is out on leave. Possibility to become permanent depending on work performance and production demands.
Pay is $28-$30/hr. depending on experience
Shift is Mon-Fri 8am-5pm
CMM Programmer Quality Tech Responsibilities:
Program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
Conduct Metrology Lab Inspections encompassing Incoming Inspection, First Article Inspection, supplier PPAP, customer PPAP, and Special Inspections within the time defined.
Maintain Incoming Inspection tracking dashboard.
Review and update Incoming Inspection Control Plan.
Assist Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to align with suppliers' measurements strategy in CMM programming and inspection processes.
Assist Engineering with New Product Development (NPD) activity.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED is required
3+ years of relevant experience in quality metrology inspection
Proficiency in programming and operation of CMM; PC-DMIS (Hexagon CMM) or Calypso (Zeiss CMM) preferred
Ability to read mechanical engineering drawing
Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Experience in performing First Article Inspection (FAI) full dimensional layout, incoming inspection AQL sampling, and Capability Study (through Minitab / SPC XL)
Strong communication skill with ability to effectively communicate with Quality, Design/Production Engineering, and Manufacturing
Ability to use basic measurement tools and gages (e.g. calipers, micrometers, profilometer, go/no-go gauges, pin gauges, height gauges, runout gauges, thread gauges, etc.)
Knowledge of AIG PPAP process is preferred
Experience supporting ISO audit
Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, Access)
Able to read, write, and speak fluent English
