Job Description
Seeking a dedicated Machine Operator for our 2nd and 3rd shifts, responsible for the technical operation, set-up, basic adjustments, and performance levels for both packaging and candy making equipment. This role contributes significantly to department production and overall company success. This role will be offering $17/hr - $22/hr based on shift and experience.
What You'll Do:
Packaging Operations: Handle technical operation, set-up, basic adjustments, and performance levels for all packaging equipment.
Manufacturing: Manage the technical operation, set-up, basic adjustments, and performance levels for various candy-making equipment.
Production Coordination: Correlate production tallies with the Production Supervisor.
Processing Operations: Ensure smooth processing operations.
Communication: Maintain clear, open, and positive communication with the Supervisor and/or Lead Person overseeing assignment and performance of Production Workers.
Quality Assurance: Follow Company established Sanitation/Quality Assurance/HACCP and GMP procedures to assure product quality.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to company and OSHA safety policies.
Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness of work area and machinery, perform specified cleaning at end of product run and shift, and oversee production workers' end-of-shift sanitation duties.
Efficiency Improvement: Offer suggestions to management on improving efficiency, safety, and working conditions.
Quality Checks: Perform and record hourly metal detector checks, package verification checks, and weight checks as assigned.
Inventory Control: Ensure lot traceability and assist in inventory control as requested.
Flexibility: Maintain flexibility to perform any other duties as needed, such as various production roles.Essential Skills
Ability to read work-related material and follow directions.
Working knowledge of assigned areas acquired through 1 to 4 years of applicable experience.
Understanding of mechanical components and electronic controls of equipment.
Knowledge of chocolate composition, function, and troubleshooting.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work as a team member, supporting co-workers and company policies.Additional Skills & Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Production/Manufacturing experience preferred.
Fundamental knowledge to follow directions.
Physical ability to stand for 8 to 12 hours, reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 25-50 lbs.

Work Environment
Work in a very clean and well-maintained environment with PPE including ear plugs, safety toed shoes, jacket, hair and beard nets. While not climate-controlled, the facility remains comfortable. Products primarily include Hershey's bars, pretzels, and Unreal Coconut bars.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of York, Pennsylvania.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33280.00 - $41600.00/yr.
Fully bilingual facility in both English and Spanish (must be able to read and write in on of the 2 languages)
