Job Title: Crane Operator
Job Description
Operate friction, cable, and hydraulic cranes efficiently to facilitate the discharge of cargo from vessels to shore. Maintain and repair cranes as instructed, ensuring safety and efficiency in all operations.
Responsibilities
Successfully operate waterside cranes to discharge cargo from vessels to shore.
Maintain and repair cranes as trained and instructed.
Safely and efficiently operate cranes and related gear to transfer cargo.
Coordinate effectively with vessel personnel and complete required documents and reports related to cargo transfer.
Participate in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of cranes, gear, and related equipment.
Perform general duties in all areas of terminal operations as needed.
Engage in refresher training in maintenance, operations, safety, and environmental protocols as required.
Conduct housekeeping and general maintenance.
Perform any other type of terminal function as instructed by the supervisor.Essential Skills
Experience in machine and crane operation.
Proficiency in production and general labor tasks within a heavy industry context.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Comfortable working at heights up to 80 feet.
Demonstrated aptitude to execute and maintain necessary records.
Ability to work effectively in a team and take direction from supervisors.
Capability to adhere to work schedules, focus on details, and follow work rules.
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, nights, and some holidays as needed.Why Work Here?

Work is conducted outdoors and involves accessing heights via stairs, with operations continuing in all weather conditions, including rain.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chesapeake, Virginia.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
