Structured Cabling Technician

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist the Lead Technician in efforts to move, change, install, repair, or remove communications cabling on customer premises.

Install, route, terminate, test and label category 5e/6 cable

Install pathway cable support systems

Install, terminate, test and document horizontal and backbone cabling

Neatly dress and terminate cabling in closets, furniture and work stations outlets

Build out telecom and equipment closets

Operate scissor and boom lifts

Properly install and document Firestop systems

Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Report to assigned work location on time and properly prepared with the correct hand tools

Properly fill out timesheet on a daily basis

Use excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to interact positively with senior management, employees, vendors and customers.

Skills:

2+ years of experience pulling Cat 6 cable and installing in a commercial setting.

2. 2+ years of experience punching down and terminating Cat 6 cable in a commercial environment.

3. 2+ years of experience reading blue print drawings and has detailed understanding of low voltage wiring standards and regulation
