Staff Accountant

Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join one of our clients in Columbus, Ohio. This long term contract or contract to hire position offers an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong accounting skills to contribute to a dynamic environment in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting critical accounting functions.

Responsibilities:

• Process and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

• Conduct regular bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.

• Prepare and post general ledger journal entries, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

• Reconcile various accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies.

• Assist in the month-end closing process to ensure timely financial reporting.

• Utilize accounting software, such as Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP, to manage financial data effectively.

• Support the preparation of financial statements and other reports as needed.

• Collaborate with team members to improve processes and ensure compliance with company policies.• Proven experience in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.

• Skill in performing bank reconciliations and account reconciliations.

• Proficiency in preparing general ledger journal entries.

• Familiarity with month-end close procedures and financial reporting.

• Strong knowledge of accounting software, such as Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

• Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
