Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Midlothian, Virginia. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic insights to support organizational goals. Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.

• Manage and maintain the general ledger, including account reconciliations and recording proper journal entries.

• Collaborate with leadership to develop budgets, analyze variances, and provide financial forecasts to support decision-making.

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including overseeing tax filings and audits.

• Handle complex accounting tasks such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, and consolidations.

• Develop and implement effective internal controls to safeguard assets and minimize risks.

• Provide mentorship and oversight to less experienced accountants, ensuring accuracy and fostering growth.

• Use accounting software, such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP, to optimize financial processes.

• Partner with departments like payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and finance to streamline operations.• Proven experience in account reconciliation, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations.

• Strong proficiency in general ledger management and journal entry preparation.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.

• Familiarity with accounting systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP.

• Expertise in month-end close processes and financial reporting.

• Knowledge of compliance requirements for local, state, and federal regulations.

• Ability to manage complex accounting tasks, including revenue recognition and consolidations.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration and mentoring.
