This role requires in-office presence two days per week to support team collaboration and business operations.
Job Summary:
The IT Business Analyst is tasked with gathering and documenting functional and technical specifications for software development new features and integrations. In addition, the Business Analyst will interact with business users and executive management to identify business requirements and present findings in visualizations and mockups as well as interact with developers for implementing said requirements and to support related development and testing activities.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Define and document functional and technical specifications for software development projects; provide mockups for user interface related changes and write user stories.
• Validate business processes against business requirements and system functionality.
• Verify that requirements are testable and can be used to generate testing objectives. Ensure functional specifications are sound, efficient and support company, departmental and IT goals.
• Investigate enhancement requests and participate in identifying the appropriate alternatives and ideal solution.
• Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical users, ensuring parties involved have an understanding and gain knowledge of the application and/or business considerations.
• Communicate application/business knowledge to other members of IT.
• Interface with executives, end users and other technical resources to fulfill end user requirements.
• Participate in and support all software development lifecycle activities, including development, testing, implementation, and rollout.
• Author training and support documentation for technical and non-technical users.
• Participate in an agile team, collaborating with other Business Analysts, Developers and Testers.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Analysis or related major or equivalent industry experience in a similar role
• 3+ years’ experience in IT and systems professional business analysis
• In-depth experience in gathering requirements and documenting functional and technical specifications for software development projects.
• Strong experience writing and utilizing Microsoft SQL Server queries and working with data residing in SQL databases.
• Previous experience with the agile software development process and Azure DevOps is a plus.
• Previous experience using diagramming software such as Lucidchart is a plus.
• Previous experience working with commercial lending and financial data is a plus.
