Job Description

Position: K-12 Accountability and Testing Coordinator

FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports to: Head of School

Purpose:

The Accountability and Testing Coordinator oversees a multitude of areas that provide UA with accurate and timely information, research, and resources designed to impact student performance. The coordinator facilitates data-informed decisions for improving and customizing teaching and learning while at the same time managing the following areas:

Testing policies and procedures

Dissemination of data for school improvement

Research, evaluation, and analytics

Compliance with state and federal regulations

Data generated from the implementation of state and federal testing, surveys, educator value-added assessment metrics, career and college readiness indicators, and formative assessments guide district-wide decisions governing instruction and performance. The coordinator will support and assist with the School Improvement Team and Strategic Planning of the school.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervise all testing and test-related activities.

Ensure compliance in state and federal audits.

Work with the Academic team to use data to inform decisions that align with student needs.

Assist in the grant process by providing relevant and accurate data.

Develop policies and procedures to improve the efficiency and integrity of the testing program.

Attend and lead training as required through the year.

Create testing summaries for the Head of School and Board as directed.

Analyze and present data to teachers and staff. Distribute individual student results.

Develop a testing calendar for the school year.

Develop a school-wide testing plan for all assessments K-12.

Maintain accurate records of student membership and comply with reporting as appropriate.

Ensure historical testing data is maintained in PowerSchool/Infinite Campus.

Work closely with Special Programs (AIG, ML, EC, 504) to ensure testing accommodations are clearly specified following NCDPI requirements.

Train all school personnel that administer and/or proctor tests on the appropriate use of test materials, test security, and the NC Testing Code of Ethics.

Provide teachers and instructional support staff with assistance in developing and using local assessments to better align instruction to student needs.

Collaborate with the technology department to ensure software is available and hardware is functional on computers.

Desired training: Master’s Degree including knowledge and 1 year of experience, minimum. Test administration training and advanced computer training desired.

Knowledge of business letter writing memos.

Any other assigned duties.

Minimum Qualifications or Standards required to perform essential job functions:

Physical Requirements: Position requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.

Interpersonal Communication: Requires the ability to speak and/or signal people to convey or exchange information. This includes giving instructions, assignments or directions to parents, students, and staff.

Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, to follow written and oral instructions. You must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently in Standard English.

Interpersonal Temperament: Requires the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions. You must be adaptable to performing under minimal to moderate levels of stress.

Assessment: Performance of this job will be assessed annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on assessment of administrative personnel. Terms of Employment: Salary and work year as established by the Board.
