MDK, an innovative law firm, is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer who thrives in dynamic settings, values autonomy, and is passionate about both technical leadership and strategic direction. This is a key role within our engineering team, where you will work closely with Product Management and business stakeholders to ensure that our engineering efforts are aligned with company goals, and that we build scalable, maintainable, and high-impact solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Make architectural decisions and write clean, efficient, tested, and maintainable code.
Assist in hiring, mentor junior developers, and promote a culture of growth, responsibility, and teamwork. Guide engineers through code reviews, pairing sessions, and constructive feedback.
Work on adding new features to our existing platform while ensuring the stability of our legacy system. Lead the development of next-generation systems for MDK.
Advocate for clean, maintainable code, promote testability and scalable architecture, and encourage continuous improvement in engineering practices.
Work closely with business teams to balance priorities, set realistic expectations, and align engineering efforts with company objectives.
Requirements:
Must-Have:
Hands-on experience in full-stack development, particularly within a Microsoft-based stack (.NET, Azure, Azure DevOps, SQL Server) or equivalent.
Deep understanding of software engineering best practices, with a strong commitment to code craftsmanship and a focus on maintainability, testability, and observability.
Experience working with Product Management to align business priorities with technical feasibility. Ability to set clear expectations and create realistic roadmaps.
Hands-on experience implementing and coaching Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.), with a strong focus on improving team efficiency and structured development processes.
Nice-to-Have:
Experience modernizing legacy systems while ensuring stability.
Previous work in legal tech, case management, or related industries.
