Description
Sagis Diagnostics is an entirely physician-led sub-specialty pathology group supported by a CAP-accredited histology lab located in the heart of Houston, Texas. Led by a team of board-certified pathologists, our lab is at the forefront of diagnostic science. We offer the highest quality services to physicians, physician groups, ambulatory surgery centers, and hospitals.
One of our many strengths is we develop strong collaborative relationships with each of our referring physicians by offering accurate, prompt, and clear diagnoses in a personal and customized manner.
This Specimen Collector will:
Facilitate the collection, processing, handling, and shipping of urine and oral fluid specimens
Follow policies and procedures to correctly identify the patient
Properly label specimens and complete the requisition form via paper or online portal
Follow policies and procedures to properly package and ship specimens
Demonstrate customer service & compassion when interacting with patients, physicians, and clinic staff
Communicate with, understand, and react effectively to a diverse patient population base
Follow universal precautions and all OSHA standards when handling specimens
Strictly adhere to HIPAA guidelines
Inform Supervisor of daily tasks, unusual problems or deviations from established procedures
Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures of Sagis while working at the physician’s office
Pick-up, package and ship the specimens when needed
Schedule: Thursday & Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., on call during the rest of the week
Qualifications
High-school or equivalent required
Minimum 1 year of specimen collector experience preferred
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Excellent customer service skills required
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite required
Proficient in data entry required
Urine Drug Screening (UDS) collection experience highly preferred
Clean driving record and valid driver license required
Reliable mode of transportation required
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a clinic/medical office/lab setting
