The Montana Public Employee Retirement Administration (MPERA) serves active and retired public employees and public safety officers and is committed to providing secure and sustainable retirement benefits to nearly 60,000 members. The agency administers ten retirement plans and is dedicated to customer service, member education, and operational efficiency.

What is this career opportunity?

We are seeking an individual with attention to detail and a strong work ethic to join our Data Processing Team in our Education and Communication Bureau.

The typical duties of this position include:

· Review documents, forms, and data to ensure it is accurate, complete, and valid.

· Enter data into MPERA’s internal database in a timely manner.

· Review and approve data to ensure accuracy.

· Request further information as needed to enter data.

· Communicate in writing to request further information as needed.

COMPETENCIES:

Knowledge of office management, procedures and administrative practices;

Must be proficient in the use of word processing, excel, and have experience in the operation of personal computers and databases;

Ability to communicate effectively with correct spelling and grammar;

Maintain high attention to detail;

Ability to learn a variety of state retirement rules, regulations, and policies as they relate to accurate processing of data.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

The above knowledge, skills, and abilities are typically acquired through a High School diploma or equivalent and 1 to 3 years of experience with computer software, clerical work, or bookkeeping. Other combinations of education and experience will be considered.

In this position you will be afforded the opportunity to telework, however there will be required weekly in-office days in Helena. Specific conditions will be outlined as part of the job offer and must adhere to state policy.
