Description

We exist so families can get better together. Each night, we keep 181 families close to the care and resources they need through six area Ronald McDonald Houses® and four Ronald McDonald Family Rooms®. Enabling families to stay close to their hospitalized child supports the health and well-being of the child and saves families more than $10 million in hotel and food costs each year. We also operate the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile® program, providing medical care to children in underserved areas. RMHC-CNI is an independent not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization.

The Director of Development, Corporate Engagement, is responsible for RMHC-CNI’s engagement with corporations and organizations. The Director plans and implements the strategy for corporate prospects in conjunction with colleagues in program services, community engagement (volunteers), and event planning. This is accomplished by identifying prospects and donors, designing strategies for each, cultivating and stewarding donors/prospects, securing gifts through solicitation and supporting donor recognition activities. This role will also entail working with the McDonald’s Owner-Operators of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana (MOCNI) in continuing to cultivate and maintain the charity partnership.

Essential Job Functions

Leadership

Provides thought leadership to the Development Team, as well as participates across the organization as part of the broader leadership team.

Works closely cross-functionally with all other Development Team members as well as Programs, Community Engagement, Marketing, Finance and Human Resources.

Develops and retains talent including ensuring employees have development plans and performance appraisals, makes compensation decisions and provides appreciation and recognition.

Represents the Charity in speaking and fundraising engagements.

Manages three direct reports, the Associate Director of Fundraising & Stewardship Events, Associate Director of Development, McDonald’s Engagement and the Manager of Corporate and Community Events.

Philanthropy – Corporate Partnerships

Develop new corporate partnerships identifying shared values and revenue goals through employee giving campaigns, event sponsorships, annual fund support, in- kind gifts, and cause marketing activations.

Steward and expand existing corporate partners, expand corporate partner pipeline through identification, evaluation, and stewardship strategies.

Gathers data, assesses leads, and develops strategies designed to realize the engagement potential of corporate prospects and philanthropic giving.

Plans long-term engagement strategies for top corporate partners.

Meet financial commitments and assigned targets for corporate partnership obligations, and other key financial performance objectives, regularly reporting on these metrics.

Serve as a brand liaison by participating in and attending partner and special events.

Continue to steward and secure gifts for in assigned portfolio by assisting donors to achieve their philanthropic goals.

Event Sponsorships

Lead the successful planning and execution of event sponsorship packages with the goal of increasing revenue annually.

Collaborate with the team to research current sponsorship and explore new opportunities through past giving and participation.

Interface with the Marketing & Communications team to develop sponsorship proposals.

Manage and support Associate Director of Fundraising & Stewardship Events with event strategy and prospect outreach.

McDonald’s Facilitated Giving

Develop a plan for growth and stewardship with the McDonald’s Owner-Operator relationships.

Supervise and provide strategic leadership to Associate Director of Development, McDonald’s Engagement as it relates to the Round Up for RMHC program.

Work in tandem with CEO, CDO and Associate Director to create engagement and stewardship plans for MOCNI and their employees.

Collaborate with the RMHC Global team to increase awareness and advancement of all McDonald’s facilitated giving revenue streams.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree required.

10 years of fundraising, sales, marketing, and/or customer/donor stewardship.

Stewardship and financial proposal experience required.

Experience managing multiple projects concurrently, demonstrating a sense of urgency, results oriented and meeting deadlines.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must possess excellent organizational and planning skills. Ability to work within tight deadlines, adjust to changes in priorities, and balance short-term needs with long- term strategic initiatives.

Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

Sincere commitment to work collaboratively with all constituent groups, including staff, board members, volunteers, donors, program participants, and other supporters.

Initiative-taker, able to work independently, and entrepreneurial; enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives.

Working knowledge with the Microsoft Office suite of applications. Experience using Blackbaud or equivalent CRM/software beneficial.

Strong people skills and must be comfortable with public speaking.

Comfortable making financial asks of individuals and corporations.

Must be willing to travel within the Chicagoland metropolitan area.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, must be available to work irregular hours and occasional weekends and nights.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Ability to travel throughout Chicagoland area is required with personal vehicle or other means.

Regular and predictable attendance is required.

Physical Abilities

Light sedentary office work. Frequently required to sit.

Ability to travel to other program sites or events as needed.

Salary Range:

$127,000 - $141,000

This is a bonus eligible position eligible for an annual incentive bonus of up to 7.5%
