Provides leadership for District programs and services to support and improve the effectiveness of schools: i.e. successful, productive staff, and high levels of student achievement.
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting desirable.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or other certification desirable.
Experience:
Minimum of three to five years' experience in the payroll field.
Experience in BusinessPlus preferred but not required.
Supervisory experience.
Strong background in current computer technologies.
Knowledge of local, state and federal regulations governing payroll.
Demonstrates ability to be a self-starter.

Payroll Analyst (1)
Payroll Specialist (1)
The Payroll Manager facilitates processes and engages in activities leading to:
Payroll Accounting.
Ensuring the timely and accurate generation of district-wide payroll.
Review, correct, and balance monthly payroll.
Assisting the Finance Department in correcting payroll journal entries and balance cash-in-bank.
Preparation of monthly and quarterly payroll taxes.
Reconciling monthly payroll liability accounts.
Ensure compliance with BOE policies and government regulations; prepare all governmental reporting including 941's and W-2's.
Assist staff members from the independent auditing firm, Colorado Department of Education, or other agencies in the performance of their audit functions.
Preparing required payroll reports for PERA, Colorado Department of Education, and other agencies.
Technical Support:
Responsible for the implementation of all payroll functions in the BusinessPlus system.
Assist in the design of new payroll reports.
Continuous update and implementation of enhancements to the payroll module in theBusinessPlus system.
Train staff on Payroll and Human Resource modules.
Member of the core BusinessPlus team. Meet periodically to discuss, review, and update current business processes, system upgrades and enhancements. Support change management processes.
Identify problems with BusinessPlus; work with ITS if needed.
This position is 253 days a year with 12.5 holidays .
Salary Range $70,642 - $93,214 a year with consideration for experience
