About the location:
The Four Seasons Private Residences Los Angeles is a 12-story tower comprising 59 custom for-sale homes with outstanding views of the surrounding Beverly Hills neighborhood and Hollywood Hills. Operated by Four Seasons, our homeowners experience best in class amenities, including a courtyard pool and private cabanas, IMAX Theatre and Lounge, a fully equipped fitness center with climate-controlled studio, and a Resident's Lounge offering a Food and Beverage program throughout the day. Our team will provide thoughtful, intuitive, and dedicated service to our homeowners, who will either live full time in the building, or from time to time as their travels bring them to LA. As part of the residence team in a Four Seasons standalone residential property, you will have a unique opportunity to define and establish the operating model for stand-alone Four Seasons Private Residences. It is anticipated that we will be able to create unique opportunities to deliver service excellence, but this will require agility and flexibility in our roles in the service of our homeowners.
About the role
At Four Seasons Private Residences Los Angeles, the Engineering Assistant Manager ensures our residents experience the highest level of service, and supports the Engineering Operation in all aspects of the Private Residences' physical building maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, steam, gas, fire and safety, HVAC refrigeration, paint, and carpentry
What you will do:
Facilitate preventative maintenance of all equipment and update appropriate logs.
Diagnose and handle all repairs of equipment including motors, starters, breakers, chillers and associated equipment throughout the entire building.
Respond to service requests regarding maintenance of rooms and equipment in guest rooms or public area in a timely manner and maintain accurate records.
Respond to all emergency conditions such as fires, power failures, etc.
Clean all stations in Engineering, grease traps, plumbing stoppages and maintain an organized department and hotel.
Demonstrate standards awareness, by setting example for standards execution, standards testing and implementing action plans to achieve established product and service goals.
Assist with organization and administration of compliance documents.
Attend daily briefing and monthly departmental meeting and participates in other meetings.
In the absence of the department leader, coordinates daily tasks for department.
Assist in the training, scheduling, and planning the activities of maintenance staff including making spot checks daily.
Assists with all aspects of personnel management including payroll, interviewing, and progressive discipline.
Assists with maintenance of all fire-fighting equipment in first class order and ensure that emergency procedures are understood and practiced by maintenance staff.
Process purchase orders, work orders, service requests, and maintain department and equipment records.
Assists with input into the department budget and financial forecast.
Install or relocate any additional equipment or existing equipment when necessary.
Install electrical and mechanical systems for renovations, outlet additions and associated equipment and provide electrical set ups for exhibits including maintenance of those set-ups.
Makes recommendations based on industry best practices and standards. What you bring:
Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Professional degree in an Engineering discipline, trade degree in a specific technical field relating to Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Civil Engineering) or CEOE - Certified Engineering Operations Executive from the Hotel and motel Hospitality Association, Building Owners Management Institution (BOMI) designation, Real Property Administrator (RPA), Facility Management Administrator (FMA) or Systems Maintenance Administrator (SMA).
5 to 10 years of experience in a related position with Four Seasons or other, luxury hospitality organization.
Trade school in mechanics, refrigeration, electrical, HVAC, etc. highly preferred.
Requires a working technical knowledge of General building maintenance.
On-the-Job training or experience along with professional certifications in one or more of the following refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
Ability to multi-task in a high volume and demanding environment.
Strong problem solving skills, ability to handle difficult situations and guests. What we offer:
