Job Summary: Support the Process Team with regard to technical issues across the organization including NPD technical team on the manufacturing floor. Develop optimum molding processes for manufacturing medical components. Provide recommendations and implement improvements to processes and manufacturing methods for new projects and existing production processes, methods, and controls. In addition, responsibilities include providing internal employees with detailed instruction relating to the set-up, operation and maintenance of the plastic molding systems. This position conducts research to stay current on upcoming technologies, assist with developing and validating technical training products as well as assist with maintaining the Training Program.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Support Process Team with regards to technical molding Operations as required.

Responsible for performing and developing appropriate training plans for Process Team.

Coordinate with scheduling to make best use of available machine time.

Develop training program for all technical people. This may require staggered shifts, or flexible hours.

Regular attendance. OTHER POSITION DUTIES:

Continuously mentor, develop, and train process technicians on best practices for a regulated manufacturing environment.

Implement usage RJG E-Dart's, Co-Pilots, and instrumented molds, Scientific molding techniques and Decoupled Molding.

Support mold and process testing for mold debug, process development, and validation studies. Develop, document, and implement standard manufacturing processes and methodologies.

Perform research, design and develop manufacturing processes and new technologies. Recommend and improve manufacturing processes and methods for cost reduction, quality improvement and efficiency.

Participate in Tool Design Reviews and recommend improvements to optimize molding, setup, and overall manufacturing.

Troubleshoot molding and manufacturing processes and material issues. Work with internal and external resources to resolve molding and manufacturing issues and implement long term solutions.

Research, develop, and implement manufacturing process controls, machinery modifications and improvements.

Provide input on new or alternate materials for cost reduction or molding improvements.

Conduct research to stay current on upcoming technologies, assist with developing and validating technical training products as well as assist with maintaining the Training Center

Use LEAN Technical Skills and Practices for continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.

Ensure all subordinates are current on all safety training and regulations for the Process Tech Position. Position will also play a crucial role in the Safety Committee to ensure that the facility is meeting all safety metrics.

Other duties as assigned. Essential Qualifications:

Bachelors of Science degree in Plastics Engineering Preferred

Master Molder 2 Certification required.

5 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required

Production processing experience in injection molding required.

Understanding and experience implementing decoupled molding processes and scientific molding techniques.

Understanding of mechanical assembly processes and injection mold tooling.

Technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods including process flow, cell layout, assembly and production equipment.

Understanding of Six Sigma or LEAN principals.

Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong team player, self-motivated.

Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.

Computer proficient.

Ability to read, write and communicate in English. ADA Requirements:

Bend, squat, climb, grasp, reach, lift or otherwise move frequently for extended periods

Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs. frequently, or more occasionally

Walk, stand or otherwise move about continuously

Exposure to machine shop physical hazards including chemicals which may require respiratory protection

Typically sits, grasps items and performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer
