As Manager - Purchasing & Logistics at AWC, you will play a strategic leadership role in the procurement of equipment for our Industrial Automation Group and Process Instrumentation Group. You will oversee purchasing operations and ensure the timely and cost-effective flow of materials across the business.
This role will also be responsible for leading a team of Materials Managers and coordinating all aspects of inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring alignment with inventory planning, operational efficiency, and service-level expectations. You will collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Distribution to drive proactive planning and performance improvements across the entire supply chain. This is an office based position located in Plano, Texas.

Key Responsibilities
Lead all purchasing activities, including supplier engagement, contract execution, and performance management
Manage and mentor the Materials Management teams across assigned locations
Oversee all inbound and outbound freight operations, including freight strategy, carrier relationships, and logistics cost control
Collaborate with Sales to ensure purchasing decisions aligned with customer demand and forecasted project requirements
Coordinate with team members responsible for POS submissions and vendor rebate program management to ensure accuracy and timely execution
Review safety quantities, aging inventory, and DRP settings, making data-driven adjustments to improve inventory turnover and reduce excess stock
Develop and track KPIs related to procurement efficiency, logistics performance, rebate capture, and overall inventory health Skills you'll need:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field
5 + years' experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in industrial automation or manufacturing environments
Knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and contract negotiations
Experience in managing budgets and cost control measures
Complete understanding of inventory management and quality control procedures
Ability to clearly communicate (verbal and written via phone, e-mail, etc.)
Practical working knowledge of Microsoft Excel Here's what will set you apart:
