Job Description
PURPOSE
The Collections Specialist is to facilitate the collection of monies owed to SMC Corporation of America. They maintain accounts receivable past due ratios and prevent the development of bad debt. This role also includes resolving any customer issues or discrepancies related to accounts receivable.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Run age trial balance reports and processes
Call customers to facilitate collections of past due invoices
Develop and process payment plans
Maintain and improve A.R key metrics including but not limited to turnover, past due percentage, and bad debt
Provide sales and management information updates related to A/R
Resolve customer issues and complaints

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment is an office setting with some filing required
Some travel to customers may be required to resolve issues
Many phone calls would require the use of a headset
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
A high school diploma or equivalent is required
Strong communication skills are required
PC utilization (Windows software) experience is required
