Job Description
The Fire Alarm / Fire Extinguisher Technician is responsible for inspecting, servicing, maintaining, repairing as well as installing portable and fixed fire extinguishing equipment, fire extinguishers, fire alarms as well as cleaning, recharging and hydrostatic testing extinguishers and cylinders. This position includes daily customer communications so the best candidate will be outgoing, self-motivated, computer literate, and able to problem solve as well as have good communication skills and professional image.

Job Description:
Inspections, installation and testing of fire alarms, and emergency lighting
Complete electronic and hand-written inspection reports, document time worked as well as all paperwork relating to assigned tasks in a timely manner
Maintain all maintenance & upkeep of company provided vehicles & equipment.
Ability to work independently and use provided personal protective equipment
Installation, repair, replace, recharge of fire extinguishers
Dismantles extinguishers and examines tubing, horns, gaskets, cutter discs, and other parts for defects and replaces worn or damaged parts.
Repairs cabinets or brackets holding extinguishers.
Inspects extinguishers for compliance with legal specifications using hand tools and performing hydrostatic tests.
Installs fire extinguishers and cabinets in new or renovated facilities.
Monitors inventory and initiates requests for supplies, materials, and equipment.
Conforms to safety standards as prescribed.
Ensure job quality and customer satisfaction is maintained in every stage of the project
Assist the scheduling and completion of assigned duties
Minimum Requirements:
Ability to work with small tools
Ability to lift 150lbs
Valid driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract
Competent computer skills
Strong customer relations skills
Ability to work independently.

Experience considered a plus:
Fire Alarm service experience or certification
Experience with testing techniques for fire safety equipment and systems.
Fire extinguisher maintenance certification
High pressure hydro testing certification
Experience in fire suppression
*All inspections, repairs and maintenance on fire extinguishers and systems is performed in accordance with NFPA-10
