Solutions Architect

Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking a versatile and experienced Senior Engineer to serve as a Program Solutions Architect—functioning as a high-level solutions architect across a diverse enterprise application portfolio. This individual will guide solution design, align technical efforts with customer roadmaps, and drive modernization and cloud transformation initiatives. Acting as a bridge between engineering teams and Government leadership, they will shape technical strategy, influence decision-making, and help teams overcome challenges through sound architectural direction and innovation leadership. The ideal candidate brings a broad technical background, strong consulting acumen, and the ability to operate at both the strategic and program levels.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the technical advisor within the PMO, providing strategic input and architectural oversight across enterprise development and sustainment efforts.

Design high-level solutions for modernization and transformation initiatives that integrate legacy systems and cloud-native platforms.

Interface with stakeholders at all levels, including technical teams, product owners, and senior Government executives, to ensure alignment of technology with mission objectives.

Guide technical direction in line with Government roadmaps, standards, and long-term architectural vision.

Lead and shape proof-of-concept initiatives to assess feasibility and value of new technical approaches.

Assist engineering teams in resolving complex challenges and ensuring scalable, maintainable, and secure solutions.

Promote DevOps principles, CI/CD best practices, and automation to enhance delivery quality and speed.

Evaluate existing tools and systems across the program, identifying opportunities for consolidation, simplification, and cost efficiency.

Play a key role in defining technical hiring criteria and supporting the talent acquisition process through resume reviews, candidate evaluations, and technical interviews.

Manage the technical health of the workforce by assessing skills gaps and recommending training and development opportunities aligned with architectural goals and product roadmaps.

Contribute to business development efforts by supporting technical solutioning for proposals, white papers, and new growth opportunities.

Report directly to the Program Manager, serving as the PMO’s principal technical resource and strategic advisor.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Broad experience in enterprise architecture, cloud migration, and full lifecycle software delivery across modern and legacy systems.

Deep understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD automation, and secure, scalable system design.

Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical audiences.

Demonstrated experience engaging with Government stakeholders and operating in a large program or federal contracting environment.

Experience in technical hiring, team development, and contributing to business capture or proposal efforts.

A self-motivated, strategic mindset with the ability to balance vision with execution in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.

Experience with Agile software development methodologies. Must possess a strong understanding of Scrum, Kanban, and/or SAFe frameworks.
