Field Service Engineer

Location: Dallas, TX and its extended suburbs (Field Services); US & Canada (Fiber Testing)

Responsibilities:

Field Services:

Installation, dismantling, and commissioning of telecom equipment (WDM and IP).

Connection and disconnection of physical circuits (fiber and copper).

Monitoring quality and security on-site, including cabling in racks and ODF.

Managing shipments, including delivery, packing.

Managing local stock and planning refills as required (consumables, optic modules, etc.).

Fiber Testing:

OTDR, ILM, CD, PMD testing within the US and Canada.

Documenting and analyzing test results.

Troubleshooting fiber issues with third-party fiber and colocation providers, with escalation if needed.

Carrying out testing on copper or optical circuits (10G, 100G, 400G). Additional Responsibilities:

Managing jobs in the Salesforce queue, providing clear, timely, and consistent updates on ongoing work orders and their status.

Liaising with internal and external customers to ensure work orders are delivered to match requestor satisfaction. This role mandates successfully undergoing a security vetting process in accordance with prevailing security protection regulations. Positions demanding security clearance may entail additional citizenship-related requirements.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in telecom equipment installation and fiber optic testing.

Strong knowledge of OTDR, ILM, CD, PMD testing.

Ability to troubleshoot fiber issues and manage escalations.

Proficiency in managing jobs in Salesforce.

Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with customers and internal teams.
