Responsibilities
Manage a team of 4 with leadership presence and a hands on approach
Work closely with operational leadership to design and manage the accounting processes maintaining effective internal controls.
Lead month-end close processes related to construction projects.
Support quarter-end flux/ variance analysis surrounding project performance.
Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and record non-standard journal entries.
Oversee the project accounting team.
Provide mentorship/ career development.
Assist with all aspects of accounting and preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Reviews financial data for accuracy.
Proactively identifies problems and proposes solutions.
Research and reconcile discrepancies and verify documents in accordance with accounting procedures/policies.
Identify process improvements and implement operational accounting efficiencies.
Assist with audits, due diligence and other duties as assigned.
Participate in related professional organizations and attend relevant industry events.
Manage and assist with preparation and coordination of audits.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.
10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
CPA or CMFA strongly preferred.
Experience in the construction industry preferred.
Big 4 or large mid-tier public accounting experience.
Strong MS Office skills.
Project level accounting, consolidations, and multi-entity structures experience.
Expertise in change orders, revenue recognition, contracts, cost to complete estimates required
Technical accounting experience with inventory, variable consideration and their impact on ASC606 standards.
Ability to manage multiple, concurrent, complex projects.
Experience managing external auditors and working to PCAOB standards.
ERP systems experience.
