Job Summary
As a Sawmill Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various sawmill equipment, including saws, planers, and other machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain a variety of sawmill machinery, such as band saws, circular saws, and planers
- Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment
- Monitor production processes and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality and efficiency
- Identify and report any issues or malfunctions with the equipment
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
- Collaborate with the production team to meet daily and weekly targets
Qualifications
- General machinist skills and experience
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, industrial environment
- Previous experience in a sawmill or manufacturing setting is preferred
Working Conditions
This is a temporary, full-time position in a noisy, industrial sawmill environment. You can expect to be on your feet for extended periods and may be exposed to dust, wood chips, and other debris. This is a 1st shift, Monday - Friday 7AM - 4PM role.
Compensation and Benefits
Hourly rate of $14 per hour. Eligible for standard benefits package.
