Job Title: Accounting Clerk

SUMMARY
Performs accounting functions to assist the Controller.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Reviews the scheduled accounts and the general ledger. Notes any unusual entries, investigates errors, and corrects posting errors. Reconciles scheduled accounts monthly.
Performs bank reconciliations, reconciles factory payables, floor plan statements, and reserve accounts.
Communicates with bank and floor plan lenders as needed, to investigate and reconcile accounts and statements.
Other duties may be assigned.

There are no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to two years related experience. Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook. Comprehends basic accounting principles of debits and credits.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effective present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole number, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute, rate, ratio, and percent and apply them in practical situations. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variable. Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, or schedule form.
