Position Summary:
Interfaith Works is seeking a dedicated and experienced Facilities & Custodian Manager to join our team. The Facilities-Custodian Manager will play a critical role in supporting our mission by overseeing all aspects of facility and custodial maintenance for all of our facilities in Olympia to include: equipment maintenance, vehicle maintenance, and all aspects of building maintenance. This position supervises the custodial team to ensure all facilities are clean and up to safety standards.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Oversees the daily workflow, scheduling, and the equipment of each of the organization's 3 facilities...
Manages custodial staff of three to include: time and attendance, daily work assignments and scheduling, performance management, staff development, training and career development and hiring
Key Responsibilities:
Facilities Maintenance:
Overseeing building maintenance, repairs, and upkeep, including but not limited to scheduling, coordinating, and performing repairs.
Budget Maintenance:
Developing and managing budgets for the facility operations for all locations to include supplies, equipment and contractor services.
Compliance:
Ensuring adherence to health, safety and environmental regulations, including inspections and audits.
Contractor Management:
Managing vendor relationships, contracts, and service agreements.
Safety:
Implementing and maintaining safety procedures, including emergency preparedness
Cleanliness:
Ensuring the facilities, vehicles, and equipment within the organization are maintained at a high standard of cleanliness and repair.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Demonstrate the necessary attitudes, knowledge, skills, willingness, and self-awareness to deliver culturally humble services and work effectively in multicultural situations. This includes addressing and interrupting oppression in all forms on an ongoing basis.
Leadership- Supervising, motivating, and supporting staff.
Demonstrated ability to track and manage all required maintenance and tasks in a systematic fashion.
Prior experience in managing schedules, budgets and projects efficiently.
Outstanding and effective communication with staff, contractors and other stakeholders within the organization.
The ability to identify and solve issues related to building maintenance and safety.
Have a thorough understanding of building systems (Ex: HVAC, plumbing, security cameras, electrical systems, etc.), general maintenance procedures and relevant regulatory requirements (OSHA, HAZWOPER, L&I, etc.).
Ability to create processes and procedures in line with best practices for maintenance and workplace safety.
Ability to maintain basic records and warranties.
Ability to understand written directions in manuals and on manufacturer websites
Proficient with Google platform or related software as required to complete and maintain records.
Experience:
High school/GED required Experience managing the company’s type of facilities, equipment, and custodial activities required.
Valid Driver’s License and current insurance. Must be able to operate large vehicles (15- passenger van).
May be required to provide a copy of a MVR for insurance purposes.Physical Requirements:
Lifting and Carrying:
Many tasks involve lifting and carrying of supplies, equipment and materials, potentially up to 75 pounds occasionally, but lifting of 25 lbs. consistently.
Physical Demands:
The job frequently requires standing, walking, using hands, reaching, climbing and stooping on a consistent basis. Occasional tasks may include kneeling, crouching and/or crawling. On occasion, may work indoors and outdoors in a variety of climates that have varying temperatures.
Hand-Eye Coordination:
Tasks require precision and dexterity, such as cleaning or operating equipment that requires good hand-eye coordination frequently.
Communication:
Must have the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing to all levels of the organization including vendors and contractors.
Specialized Skills:
May be required to climb ladders, work at heights, or in closed spaces which may require specific safety training.
Working Conditions:
This position is on-site and supports all facilities/locations within the organization to include the following: Administration, IW’s Supportive Shelter at Unity Commons, Sergio’s Service Center, and Sandy’s Flats.
